For the first time, 158 names that accompanied him on his journey into Brazilian exile are presented in a high-quality facsimile edition. Their relationship with the writer is commented on by Zweig experts from the Casa Stefan Zweig in Petrópolis (Brazil) and introduced through short biographies. This address book provides insight into Zweig's personal environment, allowing him to be rediscovered through his friends and companions. It is also a symbol of his attempt at a new beginning in a foreign land and the deeply felt loss of his "spiritual homeland Europe." The Casa Stefan Zweig served as the home for Stefan and Lotte Zweig for five months until their joint suicide in February 1942.
