No other country is criticized as often at the United Nations as Israel. The UN Human Rights Council has condemned the Jewish state in its resolutions more frequently than all other countries in the world combined. The UN General Assembly also discusses the only democracy in the Middle East far more often than, for example, Syria or Iran. The UNESCO, which is responsible for education, science, and culture, regularly passes resolutions that deny the historical connections of Judaism to the land. And these are just a few examples among many. This raises the question: How do the United Nations view Israel? And would a partition resolution, like the one passed by the UN in 1947, even be conceivable today?.
