The author, a theologian and biologist himself, guides the reader confidently and clearly to the focal points of contemporary anthropology. These include questions about the difference between animals and humans, the beginning and end of life, the freedom of the spirit versus the determination of the brain, evolution and/or creation, and the dignity of man. Is it intellectually honest to be a believing Christian given the current biological knowledge? And conversely: Is it still intellectually honest to view humans solely from a biological perspective? In this anthropology, faith is not set against knowledge, but rather faith is discussed because of knowledge, and an urgent recommendation for interdisciplinary reflection is made.
