This volume collects texts by Maria Montessori from her later work, which primarily contain her reform ideas regarding secondary schools and universities, but also include some contributions to the further development of her elementary school concept. At the center is the design of the school as an "experience school of social life," as summarized in the well-known "Erdkinderplan," which was first published in English in 1939.
