Abdelhamid Bouabid demonstrates that when grinding small-scale riblet structures with a height of less than 20 µm, the accuracy of the structures can be enhanced by adjusting the manufacturing process and the composition of the grinding wheels. The author achieves this through the use of custom-made, metal-bonded grinding wheels, whose properties are determined using new characterization methods. It becomes clear that these properties correlate both with the manufacturing process parameters and with the performance of the tools during grinding.
