In times of the knowledge society, globalization, and the associated international comparative studies, the investigation refers to the question of the competitiveness of the modernization of the school system in recent years. The student is at the center of current reform efforts. Despite the plurality of educational theories, the question of appropriate qualifications for the primary practical actors in the reform process is often neglected. Do the theoretical demands for adequate, ideal teacher professionalism contradict the demographic aging process of our society and thus the teaching staff? Using the example of the education reform in the state of Baden-Württemberg, guidance was sought for this apparent dichotomy with the intention of quality-assured optimization and health-promoting balancing of the demands and challenges of the school environment and the subjective-personal potentials of teachers.
