When Lotte Seliger embarks on a trip to New York with her mother and two sisters, she has no idea what awaits her: on the return flight, the plane has to make an emergency landing, and the four Seliger women find themselves stranded on the Canadian East Coast. Lotte now wonders if she will make it to her wedding in Germany on time. But that's not all: the airport hotel is fully booked, and a grumpy guy named Connor unexpectedly offers help to Lotte and her family. Lotte instantly falls in love with the picturesque landscape by the Atlantic and the "Mapletree Bed & Breakfast" where they are staying. The stay in Canada could turn out to be unexpectedly beautiful thanks to blueberry muffins, beach walks, and clam chowder, if only Lotte weren't constantly kept on her toes by her family - and by the rough Connor.
