After the Nazis' successful victory in the great war, the world was shaped according to their values. The world language is German, unwanted people no longer exist, and gay individuals are also considered eradicated. However, they continue to exist, albeit only in secret. Due to the lack of information, young Wolfgang Volkmer has no idea what it means that he has fallen in love with his classmate Nils. Wolfgang only knows that it cannot be right for him to have these feelings for his friend. It is only when he comes into contact with the forbidden literature in a bookstore that he learns the word "gay." Finally, he begins to understand who he is - a gay man and thus, unwittingly, an enemy of the people.
