Product details

Refugees are the major issue of our time. A few hundred of them have a specific reason for fleeing to us: they are here because of their sexual identity - as gay individuals, they are persecuted in their home countries. At home, they face the threat of imprisonment, torture, or death. The life paths of these gay refugees vary significantly. Depending on their home country, region, or tribal area, homosexuals are exposed to different dangers. Additionally, there is the personal situation: how publicly known is their homosexuality, and do they have to fear not only the state but also their families? The situation for gay individuals in Syria has worsened significantly, especially with the civil war. Areas now controlled by ISIS have become death zones. Homosexuals are now caught in the crossfire throughout the country.
