A small village on Usedom is in turmoil. Increasingly strange things are happening: a doctor who has been sober for ten years is lured back into addiction by anonymous assassination attempts, a desperate alcoholic experiences inexplicable chaos and destruction in her apartment time and again, and a well-established hotel owner with an impeccable reputation suddenly finds himself facing hygienic disasters. And above all, more and more people are dying. What initially appears to be an unfortunate chain of natural causes increasingly reveals itself to be a cold-blooded plan of revenge and execution, until the dwindling population of the lakeside village must confront the unshakeable truth: the murderer is among us. Yet, those who ultimately understand why they must die have no time left to use their knowledge.
