The teaching model explores theodicy through crucial touchpoints with the life world of adolescents, particularly concerning the issue of suffering. It does not retreat into theological abstraction but allows for the articulation of absurd images of God and the senselessness of suffering alongside Job, without having to forgo a specific form of comfort provided by religion. The teaching model was developed and tested in practical teaching settings. It includes numerous materials, such as reproducible A4 worksheets, supplementary materials, a proposal for an exam, blackboard illustrations, concrete assignments, and guiding questions for the lessons. The topic is explored thoughtfully and in depth, adhering to the principles of exemplarity and academic reliability: students acquire solid foundational knowledge in religious studies and exegesis regarding the Book of Job. This volume is suitable for use at the end of lower secondary education as well as in upper secondary education, due to its seamless alignment with Catholic and Protestant curricula.
