About the work: "Rent-to-own" refers to a special, new contract structure recognized in practice that promises success in the struggling real estate market. This work explains the essential design considerations for credit purchase agreements for real estate (so-called rent-to-own contracts) that are indispensable in notarial practice. First, the various types of rent-to-own contracts are presented and systematically explained, ranging from the actual rent-to-own contract to the installment purchase agreement and its subtypes (including the leasehold contract model). In this context, the key design aspects that deviate from the standard real estate purchase agreement are thoroughly and substantively explained for each contract type. Subsequently, the specifics of the so-called consumer contract are addressed, along with details for each.
