The history of medicine has three interrelated and clarifying objects that cannot be separated in their presentation. It deals with the successive changes in the behavior of diseases over the centuries: the history of diseases. It further illustrates the fates of the medical art and the medical profession, the history of medical practices and maxims, the changes in institutions and the social status of doctors, as well as their changing relationships with the state and society, particularly with patients. However, its most important task is to trace the gradual penetration of the human spirit into the understanding of the complex conditions of the sick body: the history of medical science.
