June 6, 1944: The largest military operation in the history of mankind has begun. Hundreds of thousands of Allied soldiers are rushing against the fortress of Europe, storming the beaches of northern France. 15,000 aircraft and 10,000 warships of all sizes are supporting the invasion. On June 7, after a day of fierce fighting on all fronts, the success of the invasion hangs in the balance.
