Worth Listening - New Impulses for Engaging with Poetic Texts

For a long time, the acoustic dimension of poetic texts has been largely overlooked in German lessons. Now, auditory media are being rediscovered in German didactics. With this, the topic of "listening" and its significance for text comprehension, literary competence, and aesthetic experiences is coming more clearly into focus. This is the main focus of the present book. However, "listening texts" also refers to the act of speaking poetic texts aloud, making them audible for others. Learning arrangements that connect listening, speaking, and reading support literature education from primary to upper secondary levels and provide it with new impulses. In the foundational section of the practical guide, special characteristics and types of listening texts are described, along with a concise explanation of the importance of auditory media for children and adolescents.
