The English engineer Graham has just finished talks with high-ranking Turkish government officials when he is shot at in his hotel room. In a panic, he flees and secretly boards a passenger ship from Istanbul to Genoa, where he encounters a charming French dancer, a disheveled businessman, a mysterious doctor from Germany, and a small, brutal man in a wrinkled suit. The crossing turns into a nightmare, where friend and foe are indistinguishable. And this time, Graham cannot escape.
