In the 1980s, a variety of effects were attributed to stretching training, which, however, could not be scientifically confirmed in some cases, leading to questions about whether stretching should still be practiced at all. However, it is overlooked that there are indeed measurable effects of stretching. This book attempts to provide a nuanced presentation of the effects of stretching training and also offers practical advice for stretching practices and the treatment of the topic "stretching training" in schools. As a supplement to the book, the reader receives a CD-ROM containing 148 PDF documents with exercises and exercise descriptions, as well as 11 stretching programs designed to cover the most important training goals. Furthermore, the stretching exercises on the CD-ROM can be adjusted according to training objectives.
