The concept of mindfulness is 2500 years old and comes from Buddhism. It is now conquering the sciences: Psychologists, neuroscientists and physicians have been able to prove that mindfulness meditation has a positive effect on a wide range of illnesses and stresses. But mindfulness is also meeting with a positive response in education and other social sciences. For the first time, international experts from the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities as well as representatives of Buddhism clarify how mindfulness can change science and society. The Dalai Lama has also contributed to the project.
