Children and adolescents living in educational institutions not only have a disproportionately high incidence of past experiences with sexualized violence, but they also face an increased risk of becoming victims of sexualized violence or exhibiting sexually aggressive behavior themselves. Sexualized violence by or against residents of an educational institution poses a challenge for the educational professionals working there. There is often significant uncertainty about how to act in these situations. This guide aims to provide assistance. The volume presents different forms and consequences of sexualized violence, backgrounds to its emergence, as well as risk and protective factors.
