Puberty: a time of rapid and profound changes for parents, adolescents, and the family. Usually, this transformation does not occur without turbulence and significant as well as minor crises. When children with attention disorders or social difficulties enter puberty, these turbulences can often feel threatening. Existing problems become significantly exacerbated. Parents often lack a foundation to engage in conversation with their adolescents. Additionally, parents frequently lack the educational skills to navigate the challenging situation. This book presents a training program for parents of socially troubled adolescents. Parents learn individually or in groups how to appropriately guide their son or daughter. The adolescents are also involved in the parent training. The therapeutic approach and the preceding diagnoses are discussed.
