How can we ensure a good quality of life for people with dementia at the end of life, create a good life for them, and support them in a dignified death? This study examines the care situation of people with dementia at the end of life. The author team presents research-based insights on how to recognize and treat pain in people with dementia, provide spiritual support during dying, offer family-oriented counseling, and deliver transculturally competent care. The authors demonstrate how case management can be organized and coordinated, and how the intersections of dementia care and palliative care can be utilized for those affected.
