Product details

Every person gets angry almost daily. Anger, in itself, is neither a problem nor a disturbance. It is only through the intensity and frequency experienced, as well as the coping strategies employed, that anger can have negative social, health, and occupational consequences, thus becoming relevant for treatment. Problems with emotion regulation play a significant role in numerous mental disorders. After describing anger and anger-related disorders, the volume addresses various models for the emergence and maintenance of anger. It then presents diagnostic procedures for assessing anger and the treatment of excessive and dysfunctional anger. Among other things, the individual modules of an anger management training program are discussed in detail, which can be tailored to the individual symptomatology. The goal of cognitive and behavioral therapy is to develop effective coping strategies.
