Fundamental knowledge from various areas of psychology serves as an important foundation for acting competently and comprehensively. Understanding phenomena of individual and social human experiences and behaviors is as central as knowledge about aspects of child development in different developmental areas. Learning and educational-psychological knowledge is just as relevant as knowledge about aspects of child personality. Additionally, foundational knowledge in health and illness, work and organizational knowledge, as well as knowledge in the context of diagnostic procedures form a central basis for well-founded educational work.
