A girl disappears without a trace, and no one seems to care. The new employee at a dubious employment agency is the only one conducting an investigation and crosses paths with a man who conducts his illegal dealings at the Holbeinsteg in Frankfurt. The closer the young woman gets to the truth, the more innocent people become entangled in the complicated story - including Ingo Bäumler, a former teacher plagued by panic attacks, and his elderly neighbor. However, the neighbor has his own murky past and always keeps a loaded gun within reach. Ultimately, the paths of all those involved converge in a rundown house on Landwehrweg, but not everyone will leave that house alive.
