The 4th edition of the book has been thoroughly revised in accordance with the new version of DIN 1052 (2008 edition), the newly published load standards DIN 1055, Part 3 (dead and live loads for buildings), Part 4 (wind loads), and Part 5 (snow and ice loads), as well as European standards. Many sections have been completely rewritten, particularly those on "Load assumptions for roof and hall structures," "Structures for house roofs," "Rafter beams," "Glued laminated timber beams," "Wind and bracing connections," "Deformation calculations of timber structures," and the design aids in the appendix. Tasks adapted to the new standards complete the collection of examples. The second volume provides helpful suggestions and guidance for students, educators, civil engineers, and architects on the design, construction, and calculation of modern timber engineering structures. The book is intended for educational purposes.
