Sawn timber can only be processed in a complaint-free manner if it is in perfectly dried condition. This means that wood drying facilities worldwide play a significant role. However, successful application requires substantial knowledge, the lack of which can often lead to significant financial losses and lengthy legal disputes. The book aims to provide guidance on drying sawn timber and contribute to sensible planning when procuring drying facilities. The focus is on conventional fresh air-exhaust air drying of solid wood in the form of sawn timber (boards, planks, beams). Additionally, many other drying methods are discussed according to their importance. The author shares his extensive experiences from decades of teaching and research at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences, as well as from successful consulting.
