With the help of the spelling strategies in this workbook, children from the first grade learn to derive the correct spelling of words independently. By practicing these strategies, they become increasingly capable of editing and correcting texts on their own during their elementary school years. Approximately half of the words in an elementary school child's vocabulary are spelled as they are pronounced and heard.
