HP has developed the C6168A (red), C6169A (green), C6170A (blue), and C6173A (yellow) spot color cartridges for industrial printing applications that require spot colors to enhance their processes.

HP's spot color ink and thermal inkjet technology make color printing fast, easy, and as cost-effective as black and white printing, as they rely on easily replaceable ink cartridges instead of ink drums and plates. These cartridges are designed to print at 600 dots per inch in applications where high-quality output on porous media is required.

The integrated print head technology (IDH) coordinates the individual nozzles through a multiplexing method that controls all 300 nozzles via 52 connection points. The HP spot color cartridges can be easily clicked in and out for replacement. These cartridges feature a thermal resistor that measures temperature and enables thermal management as well as overheating protection for the print head.
