The series, justifiably referred to as legendary, on the history and theory of architecture and urban planning was founded in 1963 by Ulrich Conrads and has been published since the early 1980s together with Peter Neitzke. With over 150 volumes, it is the most extensive German-language book series on these topics. Following the deaths of the two long-time editors Ulrich Conrads (2013) and Peter Neitzke (2015), a new editorial team has taken over: Elisabeth Blum, Jesko Fezer, Günther Fischer, Angelika Schnell. As future editors, we aim to stay on course. The original goal of the series, to provide an overview of the architectural and urban planning ideas and realizations of the 20th century, has already been outstandingly fulfilled.
