Product details
The life and work of the German-Jewish sociologist Albert Salomon (1891-1966) form a unity. Driven out by National Socialism, he uncovered the old European roots of a humanistic sociology at the New School for Social Research in New York and lived his own life in exile in the spirit of humanism as the last bastion of intellectual integrity in a time of totalitarianism. The book reconstructs this unity of life and work based on unpublished sources and compares it with parallel approaches of other emigrants with similar theoretical programs, such as Karl Löwith and Eric Voegelin.
