Product details
The company kunstgewerbliche Schnitzereien Emil Helbig is one of the traditional firms that has significantly shaped Erzgebirge folk art. Founder Emil Helbig developed a special technique for miniature carving, where the essence is represented and highlighted with just a few precise cuts. In the oldest carving workshop still in operation in the Erzgebirge, small works of art have been created for 80 years: flower children, dwarfs, fairy tale figures, angels, Santa Clauses on sleds, or lifelike animal figures. The book traces the eventful history of the Grünhainichen family business over three generations, as well as the development of the unique Helbig miniature carving that has remained vibrant to this day.
