What does it mean to live under hyper-industrial conditions that have fundamentally transformed existence since the second half of the 20th century, and especially in our present time? This central question is explored by Bernard Stiegler in the three conversations in this volume, conducted by Philippe Petit and Vincent Bontems. Far from stepping away from the stage of history, industrialism is currently radicalizing itself based on new media techniques and technologies. Industrialization is capturing and occupying entirely new areas, ranging from nanostructures to the neurological foundations of the unconscious. These fields of hyper-materiality have long become the central battleground of industrial desire politics, which occupy desire, and they represent the main target of psychopower.
