This book concludes the Founder Distance Learning Program offered by the FernUniversität in Hagen. It was the first study program of its kind in Europe. The initiative for its development came from the "EXIST - Start-up from Universities" competition launched by the federal government in 1997. After a duration of just over eight years, it was discontinued due to structural changes. This publication documents the key stages of the program's development and implementation, including the critical decisions made and their justifications. Since the justifications were based on relevant literature in the field of entrepreneurship, the discussions in this book go beyond a mere report. They also provide a scientific contribution to entrepreneurship education. Therefore, it is aimed at both scholars and practitioners.
