Due to the increasing loss of orientation in society alongside the expansion of boundaries to global dimensions, identity work in art and cultural education is an important approach. Current global processes continually present new challenges for educational and cultural policy work and demand a greater level of intercultural competencies. Since cultural and linguistic differences often do not only offer diversity and creative potential but also represent barriers, a sensory-aesthetic learning process is preferable to a linguistic-rational one.
