The German Bundestag is the parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany. Here, more than 600 parliamentarians work as representatives of the people to translate their political ideas into legal regulations. Behind the scenes of the Reichstag building and away from the television cameras, thousands of employees also work in the Bundestag administration, in parliamentary groups, or directly for the Bundestag members. Their tasks include political management, public relations, and political consulting. In his present book, Steffen Dagger analyzes the work of the scientific staff of the Bundestag members and the advisors of the parliamentary groups of the German Bundestag, using the example of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group. It provides a first-time insight into political work structures and communication processes that have so far been scarcely researched.
