The aim of Viktoria Pichler's book is to give voice to this situation and gain insight into the experiences and lives of the affected child, their parents, and siblings. She provides a well-founded overview of how affected children confront this phase of life, how parents and siblings support the child during illness and dying, and how they can find their individual, self-determined path through grief afterward. At the same time, Pichler sheds light on the care situation of those affected at the institutional level through an analysis of several expert interviews. Viktoria Pichler also aims to contribute to a better understanding of feelings, reactions, and behaviors.
