Our world is marked by wars, civil wars, and violent regimes in many regions. This leads to massive refugee movements that haunt the 20th century. In his present study, Christian Gröschen explores the characteristics of traumatic disorders in war refugees and migrants based on the theoretical foundations of trauma diagnosis and trauma therapy, presenting them in the context of diagnosis and intervention. He also takes into account the political, societal, and legal frameworks under which psychological diagnostics and psychotherapy for war refugees and migrants take place. Furthermore, he examines war- and flight-related traumatization from the perspective of helpers, dedicating a separate section to the fields of work, working conditions, and resources of professionals.
