In her current study, Stephanie Lummerich focuses on the grieving behavior of fathers who have lost a child through stillbirth, miscarriage, premature birth, or sudden infant death. How do fathers grieve in such cases? What explains their particular grieving behavior? Is their grief less painful or less intense than that of mothers in the same situation? Through personal accounts from fathers who have lost their children, Stephanie Lummerich explores the different paths of grief. She presents possible coping methods, which may include participation in a special support group for fathers. The fathers' accounts provide insight into their experiences.
