Product details
If time were to shrink down to a single moment, the world might look like a work by Idris Khan. The artist, born in London in 1978, is currently experiencing a rapid rise in the art world. He works in photography, sculpture, and installation; he paints and films, but always layers different media, such as every page of the Quran, the scores of each Beethoven sonata, or every postcard by JMW Turner from Tate Britain, in such a way that a condensation of colors and forms emerges, leading to abstraction. The British Guardian described Khan's works as "experiments in condensed memories." The English-language catalog from The New Art Gallery Walsall showcases the full range of Khan's creations and highlights the meditative yet monumental character of his works.
