Rarely have politics and economics been discussed as controversially and oppositely as they are at the moment. In Germany, on one hand, there is mass unemployment, even among highly qualified and motivated workers, while on the other hand, companies are facing a shortage of skilled labor, which is supposed to be at least partially compensated for by Green Cards and foreign skilled workers. However, this option is expected to be viewed as less viable in the coming years. The question arises as to how this problem should be addressed in the future and whether there are still many hidden, previously unrecognized potentials – such as those of people with physical disabilities. Although they often possess very good qualifications and capabilities, many employers see them as too great a potential risk for their companies rather than as opportunities.
