In particular, the textile and clothing sector represents an industry that has been undergoing significant structural changes for some time. In the context of international division of labor, a network of protectionist trade systems has developed over the past few decades, leading to permanent market distortions in this sector. On the other hand, the rise of synthetic fibers has also brought about a fundamental transformation of the entire industry. The textile and clothing sector within the EU is an important part of European manufacturing and has suffered considerable losses during these changes.
