The work examines the hypothesis of deceleration in corporate reporting - Is "less more" for employees and shareholders of a company? To this end, a counter-hypothesis of acceleration in corporate reporting is established - Is "faster more" for employees and shareholders of a company? This is linked to investor and management myopia. Building on this, the reasons for acceleration and myopia are investigated. It becomes evident that the utility maximization of the agent described by the principal-agent problem and the behavior of the capital market are to be considered the main causes. Capital market agents largely exhibit a preference for short-term profits and performance. As a result of the increasing influence of capital market agents, there is growing pressure on companies.
