After a devastating war, the North America of the future lies in ruins. The young Hud gets by with shady dealings, roaming the land as a scavenger, and is above all else: looking out for himself. When he comes into possession of a map to the mysterious Sherman's End, Hud quickly decides to seek out this place, as numerous treasures are said to be hidden there. On his journey, he is joined by a man named Archie, who possesses strange abilities and has secretly vowed to destroy Sherman's End at any cost.
