In the air
German, Karl Krger Bohrmann, 2016Product details
Flying Objects: A central motif of Bohrmann's presented for the first time in overview. Karl Bohrmann (1928-1998) is regarded as one of the most significant and productive draftsmen of his generation, achieving a maximum of expression with minimal means. The selection of drawings and collages presented here has never been shown publicly before. It was compiled by the artist's family as a closed body of work from his estate. All the sheets revolve in various forms around space as an unreal entity, a concept of unfathomable spatiality in its barely measurable tension between horizon and sky. The emotional and movement space of the aphorisms shown here on paper is of great poetic density. Figures, landscapes, and various objects oscillate in a sometimes laconic sign-like quality. Airplanes crash beside skyscrapers.
