Björn H. Katzur was born in 1981 in Hanover, where he completed his studies in biology before moving to Kiel in 2007. Despite receiving several research scholarships, he was drawn to the stage. From 2011 to 2014, he shaped the satirical stage show "Traurich & Alt" as both a writer and performer. Since 2012, he has been presenting and performing the staged crime readings "Dinner mit Leiche." Since 2011, he has also focused on poetry slam, with numerous appearances in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and he hosts slam events. He has been a finalist multiple times in the Schleswig-Holstein Poetry Slam Championships and reached the finals in 2015 and the semifinals in 2017 of the German-speaking Poetry Slam Championships. In 2015, he received a literature scholarship from the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In Kiel, he has been a member of the reading stage "Irgendwas mit Möwen" since its founding. His successful first collection of texts was published in 2015 through self-publishing. Additionally, he has had publications in magazines and anthologies, most recently "Irgendwas mit Möwen," published by KJM Verlag in 2019.
