Information and knowledge are central production factors for every conference interpreter. A systematic and optimal handling of these resources is essential. This book first clarifies the concepts of information and knowledge and their role in the context of conference interpreting, also addressing the topic of terminology. The workflow of information and knowledge work in conference interpreting is captured, and the concept of management in terms of efficient goal achievement is applied to it. As a result, ways of individually assessing information and knowledge work, as well as approaches for targeted optimization, are presented. Finally, a software model to support the interpreter before, during, and after a conference is introduced.
