The support provided by modern information and communication technologies (IT) plays a crucial role in aligning bank organization with banking processes. This leads to new approaches for designing sales channels and internal workflows. In addition to the relationship between organization and IT, two areas are examined in depth: intra-organizational process orientation and its support through workflow management systems, as well as cross-organizational business processes utilizing the internet. Both technologies demand a redefinition and design of the technical and organizational interfaces to external and internal customers.
