Antje Beyer, a native of Schmölln and a collector of historical views of her hometown, has turned her passion for regional history into a profession and has been working as an editor since 2002. Wolfgang Peter was born in Dresden in 1937 and grew up there. After attending primary and secondary school, as well as a mining technical school, he chose to flee to the so-called "Golden West" in 1956 instead of pursuing a geology degree in the former GDR. He settled in Westphalia, started a family, and found professional fulfillment as a long-time operations manager and authorized signatory at a water construction company. In 1992, after twelve years of freelance work for a daily newspaper, Wolfgang Peter published his book "The Torment of Choice," a collection of political verses accompanied by illustrations, which was followed by more books of this kind.
