Product details

The emergence of social work and the development of social policy have been embedded in an international context from the very beginning. While historiography often focuses on the national framework of social work and only occasionally references international connections in the biographies of the founding generations of social pedagogy, this perspective will be examined more closely in this volume. The emphasis, extent, and consequences of transnational reception, a natural form of intercultural learning, will be explored for different epochs and countries. Furthermore, the biographical perspective will also be addressed. As a result of this volume, an important tradition of internationally inspired innovation emerges, without which social pedagogy/social work in its current form cannot be understood.
