The religious and social changes that took place from the Roman Empire at the turn of the era to the Christian Empire of the late antiquity have significantly shaped the history of Europe and the Near East up to the modern age. Stroumsa traces some important aspects of this "religious revolution" and particularly highlights the often-overlooked role of Judaism in this process. His book, which has also been translated into English and Italian, is based on four lectures he delivered in February 2004 at the renowned Collège de France.
